Hey bloggers
Today's task for the SLJ was to collect some things from around our backyard. We had to use a container and fill it with water that has been boiled and then cooled down. That will make your ice super clear. Put the items into your container and then place your creation in the freezer over night. Here is my creation.
My step it up will be posted after like after today's other tasks.

ReplyDeleteWow! Your ice art is perfect! Using the boiled water has certainly produced a perfectly transparent block of ice - you can seen the petals and leaves very clearly. I also like your arrangement around the outside of the circle.
This activity makes me think of fossils that have been preserved in ice for thousands of years! Did you make that connection...or is it just me? It makes me think of the Ice Age movie...
I am really excited to see how you arrange your photo for the step up using "rule of thirds" principles! Do you have any cool ideas yet on how you might frame your photo?

My name is Quein and I am a blog commenter for the Manaiakalani Summer Learning Journey. Thank you for sharing your creative mahi with me and your fellow bloggers. It was fantastic to see that you included a brief explanation of the task which gives context to your blog and may encourage your fellow bloggers to engage with the blog or the activity. I think the ice art you created looks fantastic!!! I love the flowers in the ice art and the work itself looks very well decorated- Ka Pai.
This was inspired by the Russian artist Evgeny Hontor, ice is an amazing resource and I have seen amazing ice sculptures before such as a castle carved out of ice. I have never tried this before although it reminds me of the movie Frozen. Do you have any suggestions for your fellow bloggers who would like to give it a go?
Keep up the Super work I look forward to your next blog post!!!
Ngā mihi,
