Hey bloggers
Today we had to create a dish of cicadas. This was a really fun task and something i also do in class. So their was two nymphs and one adult but their were three of each because their was two nymphs that looked different. So here is what i have created. If i had the choice i would not eat them would you?

ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your dish of cicadas I thought..."I can't think of anything worse than EATING cicadas"!! Just the thought of that crunchy feel of the exoskeleton in my mouth makes me feel quite nauseous! Don't get me wrong, I do like your plate as a piece of art, but I could NOT eat cicadas! You didn't say whether you would eat them if you had the opportunity? Would you?
However, I did like what the woman in the video was doing to reduce children's fear of cicadas, by taking photos of them positioned in real life, human poses! Did you look for any cicadas on trees in your garden...I think I will do a check myself today! But again, I would never make art out of the actual skins...it just disgust me! How about you?
Look forward to your reply.

ReplyDeleteChris here, again! Tēnā koe for completing another task!
Pai mahi on noticing the different types of cicada and developing your art to show those different types! Love the background colour as well, very summer-like! And no, I would not eat them. I’ve eaten a bug in South America and it was awful.
Looking forward to seeing what you post over these last couple of weeks!
Ngā mihi!

Kia ora Hamzah. Thanks for sharing your mahi and for teaching me a bit about cicadas. I wonder if you could make your plate into the life cycle of a cicada? I would not eat them, especially because I'm vegan. But I guess if there was no other food I might have to!
