Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 2 activity 2

week 1 day 2 activity 2

Hello bloggers

Do you know who was the first person to set foot on the moon.  Well it was an American Astronaut who's name was Neil Armstrong.  He was the first man to go to the moon in 1969. He must have been very very brave to go to a place that has no people on there.  The moon has no gravity so I imagine you would just hop like a rabbit.  I also read on the internet that if you drop something on the moon its just floats in the air.  For this task I have write a poem how I felt when I first set foot on the moon.

As I set my first foot on the moon.
I felt as if I was in a balloon
I hopped my way from place to place
and I found myself a few times on my face
I could leave things in the air
for the next time that I am there
I need to carry a heavy tank of air
so that I don't have to fear
Life is great on the moon
if you like to be in a balloon

By the way I have never been on the moon, this was a task that I had to pretend when I first set foot on the moon.

Bye for now

  1. Hi Hamzah

It's Allie here again from the SLJ team.

This is an awesome poem that you have written about being on the moon. I just love that you have written it from the perspective of being a balloon.
I really enjoyed reading this, it made me smile.
You really have done a great job. I can just imagine how it would feel bouncing across the surface of the moon.

I do think that one day we will be able to travel to the moon. Not sure that it is something that I would like to do, but maybe you might!

Hope that you are having a great time at school this year. Keep up the great work and I look forward to reading more of your work on your blog.

It is raining today here in Greymouth but it is warm. I hope that it is not too hot in Auckland!

    Have a great day

    Allie :)
