Summer learning journey- week 1 day 1 activity 1

Hello Bloggers,

My name is Hamzah. This is my first time taking part in the Summer Learning Journey.  I am really excited about learning new things and make new friends.  I am also looking forward to reading everybody's blogs.

Nainoa Thompson  from the Pacific was an excellent explorer and navigator. He used the stars, moon, sun and ocean to navigate his way to the pacific ocean in his canoe called Hokule'a and Hikianalia .  Today  we are lucky that we have technology and can use compasses and GPS to easily navigate our way through in our fully equipped ships.

For this activity I am imagining that I am going on a three week journey and I can choose 10 things that I can take with me that doesn't use electricity because there is no oven or freezer that we can use.  Below I have chosen 10 things that I will take with me.

1. Water
2. Long life milk
3. Milo
4. Cookies
5. Candy
6. Chips
7. apples
8. Crackers
9. Cereal
10. Lemon and black Tuna

I have chosen these things because they will give me energy and keep me full.
Thank you for reading my blog

Bye for now

  1. Hello Hamzah

My name is Allie and I am the Cluster Manager for the Summer Learning Journey in Toki Pounamu which is on the West Coast of the South Island.
Welcome to the SLJ, we are happy that you have taken the time to do some of the activities during your holiday.
You have made a great start to the programme. This is an awesome list of foods that you would take on your voyage.
You have put a lot of thought into the things that will stay fresh and that you will be able to use.
The long life milk is a great idea. The water will also be very useful to have. As you always need lots of fresh water to drink.
Thanks for sharing your list with us, you have done a great job with this activity.

As school would have started again by now, I hope that your new class is going well and wish you all the best for the new year at school.

Keep up the good work on your blog!

    Until next time

    Allie :)
